1. It is too strict to be followed
All it needs is a willpower to become a better version of self. While it is not easy to follow any diet at all, paleo is known to be on the harder side. In fact, following a Paleo diet is more about following certain guidelines, with the strictest being eliminating grains, legumes, dairy, and sugar that mimics how our ancestors ate tens of thousands of years ago. Most others advocate a Paleo version, including my Modern Paleo, that advocates the exclusion of grains, dairy for a time to determine sensitivities to them and then incorporating them slowly to see which work for you.
2. Paleo is high on meat
This one is such a bogus myth that I find this ridiculous that people believe in it. Paleo is highly a vegetarian diet, and has no relation with all-meat whatsoever. Wrong. Paleo is actually a high veggie diet. It consists of roughly 70% vegetables. Of course there is meat on a Paleo diet, but the amount varies around individual tolerances in the 10-30% range. You should eat about .5-1 pound i.e. 200-450 gram of meat per day. Any more animal protein can lead to health problems and reduce life span. This should include fresh grass fed red meat at least once a week.
3. Paleo diet is extremely low on carbs
No. It is not, by definition, a low-carbohydrate diet. The amount of carbs totally depends on the type of food you choose to include in your diet. Paleo followers who need more carbohydrates to fuel an active lifestyle choose to eat food items as sweet potato, yams, winter squash and even white potatoes. 4. It makes you cancer proof
Cancer was there even 1.7 million years ago, when there were no refined sugar, alcohol or processed snack to contribute in such diseases.
