5 tips to make your skin summer ready
As we are currently in spring, summers are not so much far from us. It comes with its own set of pros and cons, but admit it- we all love summers for the sake of those summer dresses, tank tops, shorts and sunkissed selfies. Even if you don't plan to strut around in a bikini, you still want your arms, shoulders, back, and legs to look soft and sun-kissed. Luckily, it only takes a little extra love and care to get your skin you dreamt about all winters.
We have come up with 5 not-so-obvious tips to make your skin summer ready. Let’s have a look-
1. No more breakouts on chest and back
People generally ignore breakouts on chest and back all winters as can barely be seen under those layers of woolen clothing. But this is not the case with summers as your clothing traps sweat and oil because of working out or heat in general. It can mix with dead skin and bacteria in your pores to form pimples. You can rely on a body wash with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide; as these acids work like magic to get rid of any lingering redness once the pimples are gone.
2. Choose right hair removal treatment
Shorter the clothes, longer the hair removal sessions. There are a number of ways to get rid of hair from your body; but it is important to to know the right way to remove hair from different places. Shaving is considered to be the best technique to remove hair from legs, arms and underarms- provided they are nicely soked and moistourized before and after shaving respectively. On the other hand, the growth of bikini line hair is quite slow and cuts may lead to serious infections. So, avoid shaving your bikini line. Try waxing for around 30 days of non-stubbled hair down there.
3. Have balanced diet
Summers require an extra dose of diet consciousness as our body is more likely to get dehydrated and allergic during summers. Make sure you add Vitamin C to your diet for a healthier, smoother and younger looking skin. Giving yourself a Vitamin C boost will help you protect your skin from harsh UV rays in the summers. Do not forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water in a day; you can make it better by adding 1 glass of detox water in the plan. It works wonders for the body inside and out and makes your skin more hydrated, glowy and healthy. Try and avoid junk food as much as possible.
4. Challenge the Sun
The thumb rule for summers is to never leave home without a coat of sunscreen on the body parts you will be exposing to the Sun. It not only protects your skin form the harmful UV rays of the sun but also prevents tanning and prevents premature aging. You need to choose a suitable sunscreen for yourself, considering your skin type. For a combination and dry skin, make sure you use a sunscreen with matte-finish whereas for oily skin, a gel-based sunscreen would work wonders. Apply it 30 minutes before heading out in the sun, and for best results, re-apply generously after every 2 hours if you continue to stay out in the blistering sun. You can buy sunscreen online from any reliable online drugstore or from over the counter.
5. Get adapted to a pro-summer skin care routine
As there will be a significant change in weather, it is crucial that you switch to a summer friendly skin care routine. Make sure you trade that richer moisturiser with lightweight lotions and gels. A lightweight formula will make your skin look fresh and hydrated in the scorching heat. Try pampering your skin with cool natural products like aloe vera, cucumber and mint at night to soothe your skin.
Hope this helps you to get the best out of this summer season. Stay healthy, stay beautiful!
