A very popular saying quoted by Amit Ray. We are living in a world where everyone is so busy in their lives that they don’t even get time for themselves when it comes to spending some quality time. In this swamped environment, it is possible for people to get mentally disturbed for the time being and if it becomes more exhausting, the mental pressure is called as Stress. Stress is the response of the body to the mental and physical pressure. When a human body cannot bear the exhaustion it reacts in a rather negative way.

Stress is actually a major issue in today’s generation because people are working like crazy and undergoing all the challenges mentally and physically. Everyone today needs stress to live well, but when stress increases, it becomes problematic.

Reason behind Stress

When a human body couldn’t handle the pressure of work and other things, it undergoes a lot of stress. Stress creates havoc in the entire body. Stress causes a surge of hormones in the body. When our body detects the stress, it reacts to the part of the brain which is called Hypothalamus. It stimulates the body by producing the hormone called adrenaline. Adrenaline helps  to deal with all kinds of challenges, pressure that body is undergoing and calms the nerve cells.

Effects of Stress

A lot of stress can create a viral infection in body. It also results in the mental imbalance which could develop suicidal tendencies in the human being. Stress also becomes harmful when people try to relieve their stress by drinking alcohol and smoking, whereas the study has found that instead of alleviating, stress increases and becomes problematic. Stress results in headaches, heart problems, diabetes, anxiety issues and depression.

Some statistics show that about 43% of adults have health related issues due to stress. Seventy five to Ninety percent people of doctor’s visits are for stress related complaints.

OSHA (Occupational safety and Health Administration) is an organization that has claimed stress as a threat to the workplace.

Symptoms of Stress

Some of the common symptoms that can tell that a person is undergoing some kind of stress is:

  • Headache
  • Anxiety
  • Irritation
  • Restlessness
  • Lack of Motivation
  • Suicidal Tendencies

Cure of Stress

Stress is  a common problem that can occur to anyone but when it gets to an extent where it becomes problematic then it becomes more of an issue and needs to be cured.

Stress can be relieved by taking various measures :

  • Meditation
  • Yoga
  • Deep Breathing
  • Acupuncture
  • Diverting your mind from issues that can upset you.
  • Travelling to happy places.
  • Chatting with family and friends.
  • Interacting with someone who you can trust.

If stress becomes more of a concern then it is important to consult a doctor and take proper medication. Stress, if dealt with carelessness can prove fatal to an individual.

Since, life is a beautiful journey, we must know how to cherish it and live with happiness.Instead of letting our lives influenced by some silly things it is more important to enjoy it with utmost passion and thankfulness.
