How Cetil works
The Cetil 250 mg tablet contains Cefuroxime which belongs to the Cephalosporin class of antibiotics.
It functions by killing bacteria or stopping their growth. It eliminates bacteria by preventing them from building the essential cell walls for their survival.
However, this medication won't help with the flu, the common cold, or other viral infections.
Dosage
It is best to take Cetil tablets according to your doctor’s instructions. Do not take them without a prescription.
How to take Cetil
The Cefuroxime dose depends on your specific condition. For Gonorrhea, one tablet a day is enough, but for Lyme disease, you may need to take a pill once in twelve hours for five to ten days.
Take the Cetil 250 tablet with food. Swallow it at once. Don't chew, break, or crush it. Do not take Cetil 250 tablets that contain sodium.

Avoid missing a dose of Cetil. However, if you do, take the tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dosage.

People with kidney issues may need to speak with their doctor before taking Cefuroxime. It may excessively accumulate in your body if your kidneys aren't functioning correctly.
New mothers may find it necessary to discontinue taking this medication or stop breastfeeding as the antibiotic may pass into breast milk.
Older people may face adverse reactions to taking Cefuroxime as their bodies take longer to metabolize medications.
Do not give Cefuroxime to children younger than three months of age.
Storage
Keep the medicine in a covered container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and bright light. Prevent freezing.
Keep it out from children's reach. Avoid storing unused or expired medications.
